In this square we find some of the most famous points and buildings of the capital, such as the Kilometre Zero, the Statue of the Bear and the Strawberry Tree, and of course, the Clock of the Royal House of the Post Office, where the famous bells strike every New Year’s Eve.

In addition, from our hotel in the heart of Madrid you will reach the Plaza del Callao, recognizable by its iconic Schweppes sign, within three minutes on foot, just like the enigmatic Gran Vía, one of the most important and busy avenues of the capital. How to get there

  • By car: Head towards Plaza Mayor via 'Calle Mayor', turn slightly left onto 'Calle de Bordadores', continue straight on 'Calle de San Martín' and join 'Calle de la Misericordia' to reach the hotel after 100 meters on this last street.
  • By metro: Callao (L3 y L5), Sol (L1, L2 y L3) y Gran Vía (L1 y L5).
  • By train: Take the C3 or C4 line of the Madrid commuter train to the 'Sol' station, then walk for five minutes: Cross the historic pedestrian street 'Calle de Preciados' and turn left onto 'Calle del Maestro Victoria'. The hotel is on the right, at number 5.
