In this guide, we’ll cover everything you need to know about the Madrid F1 Grand Prix, from dates and circuit details to tickets and where to stay during this landmark event.
When is the Madrid Formula 1 Grand Prix?
Mark your calendar: the Madrid Formula 1 Grand Prix will take place from 11 to 13 September 2026, making its debut on the F1 calendar with the unveiling of the MADRING circuit.
The mid-September date offers ideal late-summer weather, ensuring both comfort and excitement for fans and teams alike. With construction progressing steadily, anticipation is building for what promises to be Madrid’s sporting event of the year.
Introducing MADRING, Madrid’s New F1 Circuit
The MADRING circuit is a 5.4 km urban track designed to challenge even the most seasoned drivers. Featuring 22 corners and 57 laps, it blends technical precision with high-speed thrills.
The route will pass through the IFEMA MADRID exhibition centre and the new Valdebebas expansion area, combining city-centre convenience with cutting-edge design. The layout includes a 12-metre-wide track, widening to 15 metres on the main straight and first corner, encouraging dramatic overtakes.
One of its most iconic features will be the Monumental Curve, a spectacular semi-circular turn reminiscent of a bullring, where drivers will hold their line in front of 45,000 spectators for six seconds.
Just 5 minutes from Madrid-Barajas Airport and superbly connected via metro, train and bus, the MADRING circuit offers unparalleled accessibility for international fans.
