chic&basic converted itself into an exhibition space to give voice to the third edition of the Art Photo BCN festival, an initiative of the Art Deal Project gallery that brings photographic creation to all kinds of audiences. chic&basic became the stage where 20 photographers exhibited and explained their works to a professional jury from the art sector.
Art Photo BCN turned the corridors and rooms of chic&basic into an authentic art gallery. The photographs of artists from galleries such as Fifty dots, El Catascopio, Galería Cero, and Noorforat could be seen hanging on the walls or displayed above the beds in our hotel. A unique concept of exhibiting photography in Barcelona that also included the possibility of guided tours for collectors and institutions.
Among the participating artists was the winner of the previous edition of Art Photo BCN, Eva Díez, who transmitted to the public, also from this hotel, the games of light and darkness of her ‘Renacer’ project. In addition, various photography courses complemented the exhibition during the weekend at ‘ACLAM foto’, a space that was the venue for conferences and photographic workshops that were held parallel to the festival. chic&basic once again reaffirmed its commitment to promoting culture in the city.
